James Loeffler is Dean's Visiting Scholar on the Andrew Mellon Foundation New Foundations Fellowship at the Georgetown University Law Center. He is on leave from the University of Virginia, where he is Associate Professor of History and Jewish Studies. At UVA, he created the first undergraduate course on the History of Human Rights. A specialist in modern European and Jewish history, he is currently at work on a book entitled, A Vanishing Minority: Human Rights as Jewish Politics, 1919-1989, and an edited volume, The Law of Strangers: Critical Perspectives on Jewish Lawyering and International Legal Thought
