On the 27th of November, NATO helicopters and fighter jets attacked two military border posts in northwest Pakistan forcing Islamabad to warn the United States of serious consequences.

Former Pakistani Ambassador and Georgetown professor Touqir Hussein believes American and Pakistani diplomatic relations have been hit but they are not yet at a point of no return.

Ambassador Hussein does concede that the timing of the NATO airstrikes could have been better.
